Knowledge Asset Manager

Description

A recent Economist study of 1650 top executives, senior analysts and policymakers showed that 45% believed that knowledge management offers the single greatest potential for productivity gains between now and 2020.

Since then, the need to do more with less has been brought into sharp focus by world events. However, the risk of wasting scarce resources on managing knowledge that doesn't add value is driving organisations to reassess knowledge management, its value and to focus efforts on the most valuable activities.

The role of knowledge assets in developing value in corporates, the public sector and NGOs
  • Linking corporate strategy to knowledge assets
  • Defining value measurement frameworks
  • Defining and managing knowledge asset management programmes that deliver real value
  • Integrating technology-based knowledge management with value based knowledge assets
  • Developing change programmes for implementing knowledge management
  • Integrating knowledge asset management into corporate management system
  • Managing risk in knowledge asset management programmes
  • Knowledge asset management tools

Objectives

Most knowledge management training is focused on an ever changing set of technological tools, making the training out of date as soon as it's complete. We strongly believe that knowledge asset management is an evergreen skill set that does not become out of date, and which is supported by a set of ever changing tools. That is why we focus on technology tools only to illustrate principles, not to define principles based on changing tools.

In this program, you will learn how to implement knowledge asset management in any type of organisation, from initiation and definition through to risk management, selling to senior management and managing the process of change.

Content

Our workshop-style programme is modular and delivered in an open environment using scenarios, or in an in-house using your organisation's needs. Specifically, you will learn:
  • An understanding of the value chain, from vision to knowledge assets
  • How to define, sell, plan, and implement a knowledge asset management programme
  • Good practice that you can apply in case studies or your own organisation
  • How to evaluate techniques for effectiveness in your organisation
  • How to plan and execute change in your organisation, at a process and cultural level
  • How to define, measure and communicate the benefits of interventions, based on the value of the knowledge assets being developed
  • How to develop and implement knowledge asset management frameworks and express them to staff, clients, suppliers and stakeholders effectively

You Will Take Away

  • A certificate of competence that is internationally recognised and used in organisations across the world
  • Access to our global community of practice of knowledge asset management practitioners
  • A set of principles and practical tools that you can implement in your own organisation
  • A methodology for assessing future developments in knowledge asset management using our evergreen principles
Some organisations that have undergone this training:

  • West Midlands Observatory
  • CSIP (UK NHS)
